California Trip - July '09

So this is how it started...

This is what Ashton was doing while we

were setting up camp.

We thought Ashton would be excited

for the beach and the waves...

maybe not.

This is where we found her after she ran off.

Nixon's first beach experience.

Mom tried to warm Ashton up to the waves.

Step by step...

This is our camp.

Nixon was all over the place.

We tried to put them in the car...

They proved to have too much fun...

And make a mess.

So this is how we managed to keep

them at peace for awhile.

This is how it looked when all went well

(for a few minutes at least)

Nixon's first taste of sea weed.

Ashton had to test all of the sand.

She poured it all over her head.

We had to change camping spots

in the middle of the week, but made

it easy by not setting up our tent, but

used the shade cover instead. We put

Ashton and Nixon in the smaller

tent so they would be kept secure.

We camped near San Clemente, CA.

This is our favorite spot to eat -

The end of our trip we went south near Encinitas.

(Near San Diego)

Ashton was bound yet determined.

This is what our spot looked like.

We were really close to the beach.

The fence was to keep outsiders out,

not us from the beach.

Ashton and a new friend.

I think Ashton is too much for everyone.

We had to bury someone...

Taking control again...

We were camping with friends

who lived near San Diego.

We had a fun trip.

This was a beach down the highway a bit.

A little more crowded so we didn't stay long.

Ashton's First Dance Recital - 5/22/09

I can't even begin to tell you how proud a parent can be.

NIxon is Growing Fast!

So the last week or two... Nixon has been making big progress.

He now has his first teeth. One on top left and two on the bottom.

He has quickly learned to crawl and climb.

He even finds himself stuck.

But with all that energy... he's a pretty good kid.

Cabin Trip - Memorial Day

This year's Memorial Weekend trip was to the cabin.

It was so nice to get out of the heat and enjoy the rain.

The cabin was a new experience for Nixon.

We found ways to keep him entertained.

Nixon is our clown. He makes a lot of different faces.

Before we left home... we went to

Wood's Canyon Lake with Uncle Dan.
